How I got my Name Meme

I was supposed to blog about my new sock kitty cat Cherry today, but Mum forgot to get the pictures out of the camera. So, instead I will do the How I got my Name Meme that Beezer tagged me for.
My Mum started thinking of names for me long before we actually adopted each other. She was buying a new house and the first thing she wanted to do when she moved in was adopt a cat and of course that cat was me : ) Originally my Mum liked the name Chibley or Buttercup. My Grandma, who has since gone to the rainbow bridge, hated the name Chibley and didn't think she could remember it. So, one day Grandma and Grandpa were watching The Price is Right when Bob Barker brought out a little kitten called Kelly. Grandma really thought that was a cute name. Mum liked it too. She told her friend the name and her friend HATED the name because she used to have a boyfriend named Kelly, so Mum changed the spelling to Kellie. And it all worked out because as soon as she saw me, she new I was a Kellie!
The funny thing is that Mum never really realized that our names rhymed until the first time I went to the V-E-T and the vet assistant called for Shelley & Kellie (My Mum's name is Shelley). My Mum found it very amusing : )
I tag my friends Yao-Lin, Baby Mao and Marilyn because they all have very interesting names.
