My Cousin Sylvester's Unfortunate Adventure

This is my cousin Sylvester, well not really, I couldn't find a picture of him, but he looks just like this : )

His beans went on holiday and my Grandpa was looking after him and his hamster brother Joey. Grandpa went over dutifully everyday and made sure they both had food and water. On the third day Grandpa was a little worried because he still had not seen Sylvester, but since they have a cat door it was possible he was out roaming around the neighbourhood. Grandpa phoned Sylvester's beans and they said not to worry he's around somewhere. Grandpa left some stinky goodness out for him (he doesn't get it every day). Finally, on the morning of the 6th day my Mum went with Grandpa to see if they could find him. As soon as they opened the door Mum could hear him crying and crying and crying in the locked basement. Poor Grandpa is pretty deaf and all these days he never heard poor Sylvester crying in the basement. His beans had mistakenly locked him in the basement before they left and he had been down there 5 whole days! Poor Sylvester, Mum said he ate and ate and drank and drank and then he just kept going from Mum to Grandpa for petting! Everyone felt horrible, but were so glad he was alright.

The really weird thing is that the stinky goodness that Grandpa left out was eaten and we know it wasn't by Sylvester because he was locked in the basement! Now I'm wondering if Yao-lin teleported over from England, went throught the cat door and ate Sylvester's food! After all he did go in his chav neighbours house and eat his food : )

All is well that ends well - Sylvester is happy and fed now : )

Poor Sylvester! Imagine being locked in for five whole days! We are glad our basement does not have a door so we do not have to worry about being locked in. We are glad to hear he is okay now.

Poor Sylvester! I can't imagine being locked up that long! I'm glad that he's okay. I think I'm happy we don't have a basement.

oh my Sylvester!!! Oh my!! Deaf humans!! Oh dear, is that what happens to slaves as they get older? Seriously, I need to trade mine in for a newer model! Poor Sylvester, I only chuckled when i realised he was OK!

p.s I can assure you I didn't creep in and steal the food, as tempting as it was! I have been too busy disciplining my humans. But now you have put the idea in my head...tut tut! ha ha xx

Poor Sylvester! I got accidently locked in the pantry for a day once, but 5 whole days would be terrible!

Oh boy, Sylvester had a crazy adventure. I sure am glad he got found, because I am sure he was very bored (and hungry) down there all alone. I been locked into a closet by accident once. But I got out in just a few hours. I liked it in there.

Oh gosh, the poor guy. No food, water or litterbox for 5 days! You must definitely post a picture of him so we can all offer our sympathy and make him feel better. Maybe he even deserves his own blog!

Kellie,
We are not fur doctors, and we don't even play them on the innernets, and we do not mean to be alarmists, but...we think that when kitties go without food for a long time it really hurts their livers. Now, 5 days may not be long enuf to hurt Sylvester's liver, but if your Mommie has not called a fur doctor yet, or googled this situation, you might want to?

It was the first thing we thought of when we read this and we try to honor our intuitions. Some times.
