My Vet Trip

This is the evil eye I gave my Mum after she physically forced me into the PTU and roughly dragged me off to the V-E-T! She's lucky I didn't turn my lasers on!

My Mum picked me up, put my head in the PTU, and pushed my bum into the carrier! I gave her quite a fight by keeping my feet tucked under the evil PTU, but she eventually won, my darn feet slipped and in I went. Then she lugged me outside where Grandpa was waiting to drive us to the vet. I cried and whined and howled the entire 3 minute drive, just to let them know how unhappy I was.

Mum says next time I am going to have to walk to the car on my harness because I am too chubby for her to carry - I couldn't believe it, her calling me chubby - have you looked in the mirror lately Mother!

So we arrived at the vet (most good blogging Mums would have remembered their camera and taken pictures, but no not my Mum), this was a new vet for me and my Mum had heard many good things about them and I must say they were very nice, for VET people.

They were very patient and let me lay wherever I wanted. I chose the sofa, of course. They then proceeded to violate my Spot #13 with a thermometer! Beans are so weird, who thought this up! The handsome looking vet then came in and talked all nice to me, I must say I liked him ALOT. He petted me and talked to me and then swoosh, he gave me a shot! I hardly even noticed as I was gazing into his eyes (Sorry Maximillian). Then he picked me up and weighed me and made all sorts of tisk tisk sounds. Then I sat and washed my furs while he and Mummy talked. The only thing I heard was that I was in excellent health, had excellent teeth, was unbelievably beautiful (okay maybe I made this one up), but was overweight.

Last night I started a new food, apparently it is diet food, but it tastes good to me. When my Mum saw how much I liked it she almost cried because she has tried many, many, many diet foods for me and I turned my nose up at all of them.

All in all it wasn't that traumatic of a trip, but I am not letting Mum know that. I want to suck up all the sympathy I can first.

That's all really good news, Kellie (well, except for the diet part)!

Milk it for all it's worth! :)

Don't feel bad about being a bit too much for the PTU- you should see the Woman swing me and Latte around while the plastic threatens to stretch. Its all the little rat's fault (even though he only weighs 8 lbs and I weigh 13). Glad you like your new VET that is very important!

Sorry about the diet, but at least it wasn't a bad trip to the V-E-T (we won't tell your mum!).

I am glad that you are in excellent health! Going to the vet is more fun when the vet is handsome.

I am with's you on that! I do not likes the PTU or the squillion minute ride to the v-e-t but I DO like the vet bean guy.

Being squished in a ptu does not make you fat, sheesh them beans just has no clue!!

Kellie - suck up all the sympathy for as long as you can! I think you were very brave and the spot 13 fetish these vets have is completely uncalled for and totally wrong! x

You have to milk the vet trip for all its worth.

You live just north of us, not all that far. Momma said she has been there. She wonders how close it is to the ferry, they took it and it was beautiful.

Diet food that tastes good? Thats nice! I highly advocate healthy weight kitties. It's no fun having a heart problem or something just because of a few extra pounds! ~Queen Snickers

Poor Kellie! VET trips aren't nice but this one seems to have been o.k.
When Mrs. OZ came to our house she was overweight too. What helped her lose weight a lot was the whirly bird. The maid plays the whirly bird with her at least three times a day - and that is a lot of exercise!!!! Running, jumping.... Mrs. OZ lost her pounds really fast!
I eat lizards. I am so thin now because of it that the staff gives me extra portions of chicken and cream and butter to fatten me up, HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Oh Kellie... how horrible going to the vet. I am pleased to hear the experience was not brutal... except for the shots.

Oh the diet, that is pretty awful

Letter to Kellie from Maximillian:

My dearest Orange Queen,

It is OK to look at the V-E-T and think nice thoughts, but pleeeeese don't fall in love with him!!!! I would be terribly terribly sad, and might go back to being the grumpy old warrior bachelor that I used to be.
My dearest girl, I am sorry that you have to diet. Dieting is not easy, just ask my mommy!! She is fatter than a grain fed hog!
Maybe if Delilah could eat the kind of diet food you are on, she would
lose some real weight.
Of course, Dr Tweety's tuna puff pastry does not help the situation.
I will ask him to prepare a lean tuna steak with steamed nip greens for my coming home dinner tomorrow night.
In the meantime, I love you just the way you are.
Yours,
Maximillian

I am glad that your V-E-T experience wasn't very bad. I have good experiences too. They let me lay all about on their couches and great me and tell me I am the cutest kitten they ever see! Well at least they used to when I was tiny and only weighed 2lbs. Now I guess I am just your average tabby mancat.

Oh man, Kellie, you were very brave. I'm glad that at least your momma found you some diet food that doesn't taste like cardboard pellets. That stuff stinks. And I say, the more orange in the world, the better.
