Tattle Tail Tuesday #2

Yay, another tattle tail tuesday! Luckily, my Mum has a good sense of humour and doesn't mind me telling her embarassing stories : )

This embarassing story took place when my Mum lived and worked in Vancouver. Like any big city it takes forever to get from one place to another and parking is a nightmare. On this particular day Mum had an appointment with a doctor about her back in the morning and an appointment with a doctor in the afternoon about her kidneys. No, she's not a hypochondriac - she just tries to arrange appointments all on one day : )

On this particular day she had on a new black skirt and blazer and was feeling particularly "stylish", she had quite a walk from her car to the doctors office and when she was going up in the elevator she noticed that people where looking down as they usually do and then peaking up at her. Of course she thought it was because she was looking so fabulous that day. She got to the doctors office, sat down in a chair and kind of stretched out her legs and gasped in horror!

She was wearing one suede loafer with a 1/2" heel and one leather pump with a 2" heel! Yup, that's my Mum - she is NOT a morning person at all and she kind of wanders around in a daze until about 11:00.

What she couldn't get over is how she walked all the way from her car on two different sized heels and didn't even notice! Of course when she was walking back to the car she was wobbling like a drunken sailor. Needless to say she had to go buy another pair of shoes before her next doctors appointment spending an insane amount of money because they only stores around her were expensive and it would take way too long to go back home and change.

She kept her feet well hidden when she was in with the back doctos office - I think if he saw her shoes it wouldn't take him long to diagnose the problem of a sore back. He would probably have recommended that she wear two shoes with the same height heel.

Yes, I know - how does she make it through each day! I try to give her the once over before she goes to work each morning : )

Oh no!! That is too funny and sounds like something our Momym would do. She leaves the house with two different earrings and two different socks all the time!

Oh...that's a good one. Of course, I always wonder how Bean manages to remember to take her head with her when goes to work.

Great story. I must admit I've left the house many times with unmatching socks but I swear I've never left the house with unmatching shoes.

Oh, *giggle, giggle, giggle*... your mom and my mom sound a lot alike! My Mom does not do mornings and isn't functional until she drinks a copious amount of coffee! And until she does, heaven only knows what she will try to put on... she's even put on clothes wrong-side out!

Purrs and snuggles from Marilyn!

Hi Kellie, I'm MoMo. This is my first visit to your site although I have seen your pretty face around. That was funny about your mom. I am sure she would appreciate your once over every morning before she leaves the house.

Kellie, you're going to have to help your mom in the mornings, at least until she's had some coffee!

But if it happenes again, she just has to tell people, "And at home I've got another pair just like these!" :-)

Oh my Kellie! That's very funny. My mom would never do that (although she has worn two different coloured socks before, and not on purpose). Her feet are far too wide to wear anything with a heel.

Chuckle. I sympathize with your Mom. I am not a morning person, either. If I have to go somewhere early in the morning, I have to remember to put out all my clothes the night before, or Heaven knows what I would end up wearing.

Oh Kellie...how did I miss this on Tuesday? I am so sorry, but it was a great read for Tattle Thursday!
Your poor mom...she really is a little "challenged", is she not?
S'OK. ML walked around all summer here in flip flops, as if they were appropriate "shoes" for a woman of her age. At least your mom wears fashionable, grown up shoes!
sigh...

We read about you on Poppy's Friday friend post, so we decided to pop over to meet you. Don't be afraid. We can be a little overwhelming, en masse, but we're all friendly.

We love this story about your mother's different size shoes. Our Jan wrote a story for her own blog a couple of years ago about how her back hurt so bad when she walked the dogs one day and it got worse as she charged about the house. Eventually she woke up enough to figure out she was wearing two similar but incompatible sneakers.
