Hissssssssssss!

I'm embarassed because yesterday I hissed for the very first time EVER! Actually, it was my evil alter ego Hellie that hissed, I would never do that.

Grandpa was over at our house vacuuming up my furs (my Mum has an awful sore back). My Mum said my furs were rolling around the house like tumbleweeds in an old western town. Anyhoo, my Grandpa is such a sweet guy and he knew my Mum was going to try to vacuum so he came over and did it for her. He was emptying the canister of dust and furs and I was snoopervising and trying to see what was in the canister, so he let me sniff the canister and I, I mean Hellie hissed! Grandpa, my Mum and I were all very surprised! My Mum thinks maybe I didn't realize that all those furs were my furs and not another cats!

After I hissed I rolled over on my back and showed my tummy, I thought that if I looked really cute they wouldn't notice that I just hissed at them : )

Kellie, I mean Hellie, do not worry that you hissed one time. I have hissed more than one times (but fewer times than you can count on both of your front paws). Sometimes it cannot be helped.

That is a cute photo of you, Kellie. Your grandpa sounds very nice. I'm sure Hellie didn't mean to hiss. My humans have never heard me hiss.

I can't believe you went all these years and never once hissed. That's impressive.

It could be trouble however if you Kellie get hissed at by Hellie. We might need to send you to a psychologist to sort through all that. :-)

We's sorry you mom is having problems with her back. Hope she feels better soon. What a great grandpa you got - vacuuming up for your mom. We can see you are sorry you, we mean Hellie, hissed. No reason to embarassed though - you just let out some pent up emotions. Happens to us all.

Ooh! My sister never hisses at me, but sometimes the cats in the neighborhood do. I know it means to stay away! I am sure you can be forgiven though, because you were just trying to protect your Mom and Grandpa from that weird fluffy cat inside the vacuum. Good work!

I wouldn't worry about one hiss among a lifetime of purrs! It may have been Hellie's response to the dust in the vacuum canister.

Mom says, when your Grampa gets done vacuuming up your furs, he can come over and take care of ours. They're everywhere 'cause she didn't get her housework done!

Hellie, don't feel bad about a hissie. Alla my sisfurs have hissed from time to time -- I have nefur hissed, but Dorydoo hisses at me a lot, but at the same time, she loves to play with me and rassle. hehehe

Thankies so much fur your purrs for my sistur Brainball -- she is doin' a lot bettur today, eatin' bettur and Brainballin' around and doin' her Alpha Cat patrols (YAY!); she's also gettin' in more naps, though, which is good. Momma thinks she still needs some more good bathroom trips before she feels 100%. But she's much bettur and Momma will keep an eye on her to make sure she keeps gettin' bettur or else she still might have to go to the v.e.t.

THIS is why kitties like you and Daisy get Nice Matters awards and I never shall.
I hiss more times in one hour than you could count on your front and back paws. At both the other cats and the lady! I am an equal opportunity hisser.

I think hissing is a good energy releaser. Sort of like how Mosaic Lady sighs all the time. Plus it makes others think you are mean (or bored, in her case.)
Maybe you were just expressing your opinion - preferring your tumbleweed furs to be left on the floors where you put them?

I liked you a lot before, Kellie, but I really like you now!

*giggle*, Kellie -- or Hellie :-D -- don't worry about a hiss. It's okay. I hiss sometimes, too -- I hiss when I get nervous, even. I don't even have to be mad. Because I'm partially deaf, I startle easily, and if one of my siblings comes up on me unexpectedly, I'll often hiss. But I don't mean anything by it. And now that they know me well, they understand that. I'm glad. I don't want to give offense.

Thank you so much for your purrs for my sweet sister, Brainball -- I was so happy yesterday when she started feeling better that I gave her a kiss on the ear. *smile*
